OM neither has definition nor meaning. It is meaningless. Ohm symbolize all that cannot be describe or written. If someone is defining Ohm it means he is brightening the light with lamp. It is just sound. Sound that unite the cosmos with it wave. OM is sound produced from the vibration due to movement of cosmos.

Keep in mind where there is meaning there is limit. And OM is limitless rather infinite. When there is meaning there is opposite of it and Will you please describe opposite of OM, Om has no opposite. Life is opposed by death; light is opposed by darkness, duality by unduality, liberation by life in world. Have you listened opposite of OM? This is the importance of ohm. Just a sound, sound that has only meaning nothing else. A sound-full meaning but with just sound. Where there is meaning there is gender either male or female but OM has no gender.

Ohm is emblem of that which cannot be defined. An epitome of that, which your mind cannot chase or think. We can define everything but how we define GOD.

Omkar means the day on which a person experiences oneself with the world, that day when the Omkar sound reverberate with oneself. The day the person bound by the shape becomes shapeless-incorporeal sky.  The day the individual   lost one's own limited identity into the limitless-infinite ocean wave, that day one experience frolicking-rejoicing music.    The prime-mantra that is the name of Omkar, that day prime-mantra echoes the heart. Omkar is the name of sweet music that reverberates in ultimate peace.

ओम प्रतीक है उस सब का, जिसे कहा नहीं जा सकता। ओम शब्द में कोई भी अर्थ नहीं है। यह मीनिंगलेस है। इसमें कोई भी अर्थ नहीं है। और अगर कोई आपको अर्थ बताता हो, तो उससे कहना कि अनर्थ मत करो। ओम में कोई भी अर्थ नहीं है। वह मात्र ध्वनि है।
ध्यान रहे, जहां भी अर्थ होता है, वहां सीमा आ जाती है। अर्थ का अर्थ ही होता है सीमा। जब भी अर्थ होता है, तो उससे विपरीत भी हो सकता है। सभी शब्दों के विपरीत शब्द हो सकते हैं। ओम के विपरीत शब्द बताइएगा? जीवन है तो मृत्यु है, अंधेरा है तो प्रकाश है, अद्वैत है तो द्वैत है, और मोक्ष है तो संसार है। लेकिन ओम के विपरीत शब्द कभी सुना? अगर अर्थ हो तो विपरीत शब्द निर्मित हो जाएगा। लेकिन ओम में कोई अर्थ ही नहीं। यही उसकी महत्ता है। अजीब लगेगा, क्योंकि हमारा मन होता है, खूब-खूब अर्थ बताया जाए। ओम में तो जरा भी अर्थ नहीं है। जस्ट ए साउंड, सिर्फ ध्वनि। लेकिन बड़ी अर्थपूर्ण। अर्थपूर्ण, अर्थ बिलकुल नहीं। अर्थपूर्ण, सिग्नीफिकेंट।
ओम प्रतीक है सिर्फ उस सब का, जो नहीं कहा जा सकता। हम सब कुछ कह सकते हैं, सिर्फ परमात्मा को नहीं कह सकते।
ओंकार का अर्थ है, जिस दिन व्यक्ति अपने को विश्व के साथ एक अनुभव करता है, उस दिन जो ध्वनि बरसती है। जिस दिन व्यक्ति का आकार से बंध हुआ आकाश निराकार आकाश में गिरता है, जिस दिन व्यक्ति की छोटी-सी सीमित लहर असीम सागर में खो जाती है, उस दिन जो संगीत बरसता है, उस दिन जो ध्वनि का अनुभव होता है, उस दिन जो मूल-मंत्र गूंजता है, उस मूल-मंत्र का नाम ओंकार है। ओंकार जगत की परम शांति में गूंजने वाले संगीत का नाम है।
